What’s new in endocrinology and diabetes: The effects of COVID-19

During this series of three webinars, an experienced group of national diabetes and endocrine experts will discuss the acute and long-term impact of COVID-19 on diabetes and endocrine conditions. It will also explore the latest research concerning whether pre-existing metabolic and endocrine diseases alter the severity of COVID-19 infections. 

 

Episode 1

The role of diabetes mellitus in susceptibility and outcomes of COVID-19, the role of androgens on COVID-19 susceptibility and outcomes, and to understand the influence of COVID-19 on diabetes, sodium balance and glucocorticoid replacement.

 

Episode 2

The role of vitamin D metabolism in COVID outcomes, appreciate the safe management of glucocorticoid replacement in patients with COVID-19 infection, and appreciate the complex role of metabolism in COVID-19 mortality.

 

Episode 3

The effect of COVID 19 on the thyroid gland, assess whether thyroid abnormalities impact the outcomes of COVID-19, and learn more about the role of oestrogen in COVID-19 outcomes.
